The flag is not about racism, it's about family heritage. We live 15 minutes from Gettysburg where we had family die while fighting for the confederate side. I will not take the flag down, but trust me, the horses don't care what color skin you have and neither do we.
We are a small family farm and rehoming facility for unwanted and slaughterbound horses, located in East Berlin, PA. The farm is about 30 minutes from Gettysburg, Hanover, York, and Harrisburg with easy access to routes 30, 15, 81, and 83.
We are a rehoming facility that gives horses a second chance at a good home and life. As a rehoming facility we find good people for good horses, not the other way around. We do not retain ownership of the horses we "adopt" out. Although we do have a rehoming questionnaire / application, and a rehoming contract. All we ask is that if you put the horse up for sale please contact us first so we can try to buy him / her back. We will of course take the horse back at any time as a surrender. You will not get a bad name by surrendering to us. We do try to put the new owners in contact with past owners, but if you would rather not be contacted just let us know. Because we are not a non-profit we don't have very many funds to work with, so we prefer horses be up to date on their coggins and vaccines before they are surrendered but if that's not possible we will not turn them away because of it.
We may also be able to help with training issues if that's the only reason you need to sell or surrender the horse.
OUR MISSION - TO KEEP HORSES FROM BEING SOLD AT AUCTIONS WHERE THEY RUN A HIGH RISK OF BEING SLAUGHTERED.
Horses have done so much for people throughout history, we do not feel it's fair to just give up on them and sell them for someone in another country to have on their dinner plate. We feel that there isn't a horse out there that cannot get over any previous problems with the proper love and care.

*NOTE* If you schedule an appointment with us please show up at the scheduled time. If you cannot make it, call as early as possible to let us know. We have lives and have stuff to do, we always wait around so we don't miss you and end up missing out on an entire day. Also if you show interest in one of the horses and later change your mind PLEASE call or email to let us know. My email is full because I won't delete them until I know the person is not interested. Thank You
Any horse we get that is of age to be ridden, will be ridden. Our rescue horses have done trail rides, camping trips, some have even swam in the lake at Codorus. We do natural horsemanship on all of them, and try to have them riding really well on trails before placing them up for adoption.
"you guys have done so much you are by far the hardest working rescue I know!!!!!"
