Horses Needing Homes
Remember to figure for 6% sales tax on adoption fees
We need to find good homes for these guys and girls so we can make more room for the new ones, so I'm lowering the adoption fees. Rescue horses tend to be very forgiving and extremely lovable, the perfect addition to your family!
Chance
2 yr old Paint gelding. Chance was saved from the NJ feedlot. He still needs his shots and coggins. Chance is lazy and loves attention!! In your pocket all the time. We just broke him the other day and he took it in stride, no bucking no rearing, nothing all at. He just walked around the roundpen and really needed pushed to even pick up a trot. We will finish his training and start him on trails as time allows. He leads, ties, loads, easy to catch, tacks up with no problems. His rehoming fee is 500.00
UPDATE 10/27/09 - Chance will be going to Acres of Hope Rescue for 30 days to free up some space here and to get some more time undersaddle.

Apache - ADOPTION PENDING
6 yr old, 14.2 hand, buckskin QH mare. This girl rides great!! She has been in the mountains and to Gettysburg. Does neckrein but needs a refresher to be great at it again. Knows some leg cues. Traffic safe, loads great, rides alone or in a group! She does need front shoes, but otherwise is fine. Please contact Pat at luvmyqh2003@yahoo.com about this sweetheart. Adoption fee 1500.00 neg.
Gonzo
8 yr old 15.2 hand TB gelding. This boy is awesome. He has wonderful manners in and out of the saddle, loads, ties, easy to catch, loves attention. Walk, trot, canter without problems. We were told he had never been trail ridden but we took him right out with other horses today and had no issues whatsoever, at the end we started riding him out thru the field by himself and he was fine. I don't think he's been ridden reguarly for some time but he rode so well today I'd say he's fine for atleast an intermediate rider. No jumping due to having both front ankles broken in his past but he is cleared to walk, trot, canter. Vet check at adopters expense is always recommended on the horses, and he is no different. I want to make sure his past injuries will not keep you from enjoying him to the fullest. He is sound, and is on no medication or supplements. He was surrendered to us by his wonderful owner ONLY due to the state of the economy. She loved and still loves this horse dearly and we want to make sure he is going to be adopted by a FOREVER home. Usually we allow horses to go to other homes if their new owners cannot keep them (provided they contact us first, and it's a very good home), however, Gonzo will be done alittle differently. If you adopt him and at any point cannot keep him you MUST surrender him back to us. Do not let this deter you from looking at this boy, he's truly a great horse! Adoption fee 500.00

TJ
TJ is a 8-10 yr old 14.3 - 15 hands, Chestnut QH gelding. Loves attention, sweetheart personality, rides good, loads like a champ, easy to catch, ties, stands for tacking and mounting, not spooky. He walks/trots/whoas great, needs pushed into the canter. I don't think this horse is happy to ride around in a ring, but he trail rode without a second thought. Leads or follows on the trail, I don't know if he'd go out alone but he did ride away from the other horse without a fuss, neckreins but not on a dime yet, smart horse and will learn quick. Since he hasn't been here very long I will not say he's beginner safe because we just don't know, but I have a feeling he came in with a group of camp horses to the feedlot. Rehoming fee 800.00
Judge Carrie AKA: Hope - Adopted

She still needs weight, but her top line is filling out nicely now to match her belly.
Hope was one of our first feedlot rescues, according to her tattoo she is a 14yr old TB. She's around 15.3-16 hands. Her temperment is so sweet and forgiving, and she loves everyone. Great to catch, ties, loads, bathes, likes other horses, not marish, stands like a rock to be tacked. She should have an intermediate rider on trails for right now, but a beginner can ride her in the ring, she's a sweetheart. She's sound too! Great horse but because she needs more weight her rehoming fee is 400.00 firm.
Belladonna
10 yr old, 14.3 hand, bay, morgan mare. Nice horse! Hasn't been on a trail ride with us yet (hopefully will this week) but she's not spooky at all and rides in the pasture great. Good groundmanners, sound, SMOOTH gaits. We did have the kids ride her in the roundpen and she did fine, but I'd still like to see an intermediate rider on her for now. NOT a deadhead and will GO if asked, does get alittle hot after run but not bad and totally controllable. Neckreins 100% and backs. Bella was a trail horse at a trail stable in NY before finding herself waiting in line to be shipped to Canada for slaughter. She has an UTD coggins, just had her hooves trimmed, dewormed, and will be getting her first round of vaccines tomorrow (11-19-2009). Rehoming fee 1200.00
Mama - Adoption Pending
8 yr old Appy mare, approx 14.3 - 15 hands. Mama was a feedlot rescue on 10-18-09
UPDATE - Mama isn't pregnant (the name stuck). She's riding really nice but the vet said she will need steady work because of her stifles sticking. Could still make a nice trail horse.
UPDATE - 11/11/09 Animed donated some AniFlex CS with HA to help with her stifles. I want to really get this under control before she's placed for adoption. She's out 24/7 now and they have not been locking very often so I don't think a situation where she's in a stall will work for her.
UPDATE - 11/19/09 Her stifles have not locked since she's been out 24/7 and on the Aniflex CS. She was ridden again yesterday and did good. She was an ex camp horse and therefore not used to cantering, so she needs alittle more experience with that but walks and trots very nice. I'm willing to give a 2 months supply of the Aniflex CS to whoever adopts her. Her ground manners are wonderful, she's a very nice horse. I'm hoping to get her on a trail ride this Sunday. Rehoming fee 750.00
