New Holland

Do I need to say more?

We rescue alittle different than most people at New Holland and there are a few reasons for it. We do not go looking for the sick, lame, and unhandled (although they do find us sometimes), there are other rescues there helping them when possible. The arabians, TB's, and standardbreds have rescues helping them. So.. who's helping the stock horses? The paints and quarter horses that are healthy and ride good... We Are!! They go to slaughter too but some rescues seem to forget about them. The other reason is we are privately funded.. which means the money from adoptions, and sales are what keeps the rescue going. We use our bi-weekly paychecks as well when needed (every week!). Not many people will donate to us, either because we are not a non profit or because they just can't. I understand not being able to, but if you don't trust us please call, email, or stop by. We make time for everyone!

I will be posting pictures of N.H. along with prices (from when we are there) as I get time. Let me know if you have any questions, we are happy to answer them all.

When we went down on 1/12/09 the prices were around the 500 - 700 range except for the 2 we got for 50.00 each. Of course there were some that brought more and some that brought less. On 3/9/09 the prices were there again, but the following week they were down a good bit. Most horses were bringing under 500.00. Conditions were also alot worse that week, skinny horses, injuries, you name it. If you want to know where the kill buyers normally stand its across from the auctioneers stand to the left of the stands (facing auctioneer). There's a girl can't be past her mid 20's with dark brown/black hair to her mid back that seems friendly enough but beware she hangs around the woman from Rotz Livestock and may work for/with them. Josh McKay is also seen with a younger woman (girlfriend/wife??) she normally stands on his left, she also has long dark hair.  I can describe the guys at New Holland if you email me but can't put pictures online because of lawsuits. But in my mind if they didn't want people knowing they wouldn't wear hats with their name on them.

he was in the slaughter pen. We asked at the office who owned these horses and nobody would tell us. Such a shame we couldn't find out because we were going to buy him.
The above pictures were taken around the middle of July. Prices were running between 200 - 500. There are alot of mustangs going thru the sale and they never say what they are or they try to pass them off as a different breed. We are hoping to soon make another trip but won't be able to until we get the adoption fee for Apache and I'm not sure when that is going to be (a friend of ours is adopting her).
