If you have rehomed a rescue from us please email your stories and updates (pictures always welcome!!) and we will put them here.

Skipper - (email from his new owner, first day home) "Just wanted to let you know we got home safe and sound.  No problems and the roads were great coming home.  He rode nice and quiet.  I got him off the trailer and led him right out to the corral and let him loose with the filly.  It was hysterical!  She just pranced and squealed and kicked up her heals, now she is following him around smelling him.  Skipper just gave her a few sniffs and started making eyes at my mares.  He hasn't bothered the electric fence between them yet.  He does seem a little concerned about the neighbors two geldings, but there is a pasture between them, and he is mostly just calling and answering to them.  Hopefully it stays as calm as it has been so far.  If so, he truly amazes me with his temperment.  I'll keep you updated!" Scout - Bought (he was a personal horse before we started the rescue) as a birthday gift for a little girl. I hear they are doing very well together! Here are some pictures.

Scout is great, he met are friends horses and got a little worked up but it was ok. Tara is now riding him her self in the pasture,he took off with her once (at a fast trot). But i told her before that it might happen and she did find she was able to stop him and turn him around. I think she is on her way to being a good rider.

Update - Scouts new owner has been keeping in touch, and unfortunately Scout may have navicular, luckily with the supplements out there today he should still be able to perform quite well for his new family.

From a mother buying Misty and Jazmin for her daughters... - Yes, you may use emails from us to help save horses and give them a good home.  You may buy and then adopt them, but you also nurture and rehabilitate them.  People can't expect that that doesn't cost you time and money.  And how do they think that you will buy more horses to help, as well as, to live?  Of course you will adopt them for more than you paid.  Do they really think a dealer would spend money on a horse that has problems?

you have really touched their hearts and they are so grateful and think you are just so wonderful.  I am glad you want to keep in touch as well.  Especially with Amanda, I really think you and her are special people that can help horses, give them love and good homes.  You both have the passion and heart for it.

From Terri who adopted Tex - He is just a gem.  He finally came out of the stall area around 1pm to venture around the pasture and eat grass.  I think he was unsure at first he winnied a couple of times and didnt get a response I told Rich I think it will take him a couple of days to adjust to being alone.  He has been eatin up the attention so far - we even gave him a bath, brushed him and cleaned out his hooves with no issues.  I am going to saddle him to ride on Friday due to having to work the next two days.  I couldnt be happier hopefully he will be just as happy with me.

Update 11/08/2009 - Tex is getting fat - I will need to cut back soon he has put on the weight I wanted and then some just worried about winter and no grass trying to fatten him up now.  He can be a handful riding - he has gotten more comfortable and tests me at times but he does not try to turn around anymore (he knows that is not tolerated).  The weather seems to greatly affect him on warmer days he is fine but riding on colder and windy days can be a challenge - the deer are moving and he is still adapting.  But on my days off I take him down to the neighbors pasture and let him run/graze and yesterday when we were there my very close neighbors dog was running after a car and I yelled at the dog to get him to go home Tex came running down like he thought someone was going to hurt me.  I told Rich that he can act like he doesnt like me at times but when it comes down to it he is going to take care of me. (I thought it was to be the other way around)  When I have him in their pasture he doesnt mingle with the other 3 horses he stays down at the bottom with me.  I even walked him up to the top where they were and he ran away from them and kept looking to see where I was.   I know I baby him too much but I have waited 20 yrs to have a horse again and if any horse deserves it its him.  Do you know where he came from?  I know he was a surrender to you but I guess I dont understand why anyone would give him up.  I love him so much and nothing he has done or could ever do would change that.  I know their behavior is a reflection of what I do and feel and his actions are my fault.  With a little more time (trust building time) I will have the horse I always dreamed of (if I dont already).  Thank you again and god bless.
